Since May 1, 2007 - What made you interested in a career in real estate?
I actually never even thought about a career in real estate and didn't know anything about real estate until I bought my first home through Team Leo and they were looking for an assistant and asked me if I would like to go for an interview with Leo and I thought "why not", so I did and got the job. - What is your favourite part of your career?
I enjoy doing the marketing such as: mailers, feature sheets for the listings and the mass emails for our events and holidays. I love being creative and designing them and I also enjoy having the opportunity to organize and take part in the events that we do throughout the year. - What have you found most satisfying about your position?
When all of the hard work we have done for our clients has paid off and we have sold their home and they are happy. I also find it very satisfying after each event that people are so happy that we did this for them and they were able to have a fun day with their family, etc. - What is the most valuable thing you’ve learned so far?
It would have to be how much I have learned and how much experience I have gained working in this industry, running an office and the life experience and lessons. - What is your favourite restaurant?
My Greek Taverna in Coquitlam - What is your favourite book?
I have so many favourite books, it's too hard to pick just one, but if I had to it would be "White Oleander" by Janet Fitch. - Name someone you admire and why.
My boss, Leo Bruneau because I have never met anyone like him in my life and he amazes me at how hard he works for his clients, how much time he devotes to helping others and all of the fundraising and charity work he does, while still having a close and loving relationship with his entire family (and it’s a big family). He has so much energy and enthusiasm about life and he has done so much for me over the years and none of this would be possible if it weren’t for him. - Tell us about a cause you believe in and why.
Again, it’s hard to pick just one because there are a lot that I believe in but I feel that it is very important to give back to those in need, be a good person and to take care of each other, the animals and the environment.. - What do you think makes a great assistant?
A great assistant has to be prepared and willing to work hard, have really good customer service, be professional, able to multi-task, prioritize and be proactive rather than reactive. You just have to basically be able to get things done that need to get done when they need to get done. - Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for current or new PRAs?
I think a lot of what I said above would be good advice; this is a very busy industry and can get stressful so be careful not to burn yourself out but it can also be very rewarding, knowing that will help. I think it’s easy for people to forget that what we do as assistants is just as valuable as what the REALTORS® do, so always remember that you are just as valuable and important. (those are my words of wisdom).
