PERSONALIZATION.

I love being on social networks. Facebook keeps me in touch with all my  friends and family, Twitter broadcasts thoughts that I have and information I want to share, and youtube can be informative and entertaining. But how much has it taken away from our personalization?

A friend of mine commented the other day that his daughter had told him that for her birthday she had had 250 Facebook posts wishing her a happy birthday. But she said she did not get one phone call nor one birthday card.

Social networking has its time and place for sure, but don’t disregard the need both in business and personal, for personalization and a touch of human contact. Our family depends on it, our friends rely on it and our clients and customers thrive on it.

Did you pick up the phone today and call someone regarding your business or just to say hello? Did you write a hand-written note to someone letting them know you’re thinking of them? What is your relationship model? Does it include personalization?
