What is the difference between a Licensed and Unlicensed Real Estate Assistant

An unlicensed real estate assistant supports real estate professionals in the day-to-day administrative management of their business. Professional Real Estate Assistants are an essential component of the real estate industry. Being unlicensed limits the duties assistants are able to perform. For more information on unlicensed assistant guidelines, contact your Real Estate Regulator. Read general guidelines for an unlicensed real estate assistant.

Licensed real estate assistants have qualified for the same license as a REALTOR®. They have successfully completed a recognized licensing course and have satisfied all licensing requirements just as a REALTOR® would. Generally a licensed assistant can perform many of the same tasks as a REALTOR®.

We have trained both licensed and unlicensed assistants, as well as new REALTORS®, who wanted to strengthen their administrative foundation. Read our Student FAQ.

What does a PRA Professional Real Estate Assistant do?

Real estate professionals must spend considerable time and effort on servicing their clients and increasing business and revenue. If their time is being consumed by daily administrative tasks, it limits their ability to focus on more networking and sales.

The role of a Professional Real Estate Assistant is to support real estate professionals.

Typically, a Professional Real Estate Assistant can work for a brokerage, for one or many REALTORS®, or for themselves as a freelancer. The career flexibility is ideal.
